If you want the Commissioner to make a decision about child support, you can ask them. You need to write down your request and explain why you're asking. This is called an application.

The person who gets the child support payments can make this request. They're called the payee.

When you make your request, you need to tell the Commissioner the reasons for it. These reasons are called grounds.

There are two people involved in this process: the person who pays child support (the liable person) and the person who receives it (the payee).

The Commissioner can make different types of decisions. They don't have to stick only to what you've asked for in your application. They can make other decisions too if they think it's needed.
