Illustration for Child Support Act 1991

If you're owed money as a refund under section 216(3), you can ask the Commissioner to transfer some or all of this money to pay for other things. You can use it to pay:

  • Your own tax bill or other money you owe under the Tax Administration Act 1994
  • Someone else's tax bill or other money they owe under the Tax Administration Act 1994
  • Someone else's child support payments

You can choose when you want the money to be transferred, as long as it's on or after the day you ask for the transfer.

Once the transfer has been made, you can't change your mind or alter your request.
