Child Support Act 1991

General provisions - Miscellaneous provisions

226A: Appointment of lawyer to assist court

You could also call this:

“The court can get a lawyer to help with child support cases”

In New Zealand, when there are legal proceedings about child support, the court can get help from a lawyer. This doesn’t apply to criminal cases. The court has two ways to do this. First, it can choose a lawyer itself to help. Second, it can tell the court’s registrar to find a lawyer to help. This is done to make sure the court has all the information it needs to make good decisions about child support.
