Illustration for Plumbers, Gasfitters, and Drainlayers Act 2006

You can do sanitary plumbing work if someone supervises you. This supervisor must have a current licence to supervise the work or be authorised under section 18. The supervisor must test the work to ensure it is done correctly. You must also ensure the work meets the requirements of regulations under the Plumbers, Gasfitters, and Drainlayers Act and the Building Act 2004. The supervisor checks that the work is competent and meets these requirements. This is how you can do sanitary plumbing work under supervision. The supervisor is in charge of testing the work. They check that the work is done correctly and meets all the rules. This includes rules under the Plumbers, Gasfitters, and Drainlayers Act and the Building Act 2004.
