You want to register as a plumber, gasfitter, or drainlayer. The Board sets minimum standards for registration. The Board can set these standards in different ways, such as requiring a certain degree or diploma. They can also require you to complete a competence programme or pass a specified examination. You might need to have experience in providing certain services or show a certain level of competence. The Board can also consider your registration with an overseas organisation. They set these standards under section 30. The Board can require you to pass an examination, but only if you do not have a recognised degree or diploma. This is how the Board decides who can register as a plumber, gasfitter, or drainlayer.
