Illustration for Plumbers, Gasfitters, and Drainlayers Act 2006

You can do gasfitting work on certain industrial premises. These premises use a lot of gas, more than 60 000 megajoules per hour. The person in charge of the premises must have a system to ensure gasfitters are competent and supervised. You must be competent to do the work you are employed or contracted to do. You must also be supervised by someone authorised by the person in charge. This rule applies to industrial premises with high gas consumption. The person in charge must maintain this system at all times. This is so people doing gasfitting work on the premises are safe. You need to follow this rule when doing gasfitting work on these premises.
