The purpose of the register is to help the Board find information on it. You can use the register to find out if a motor vehicle has a current certificate of self-containment. You can also find out if the certificate has expired or been revoked and when it expires. The register helps a self-containment certification authority find information about certificates they issued. They can see details of all certificates and motor vehicle inspections done under section 87U(3). They can also see all the information in a motor vehicle's certificate of self-containment. The register also helps an enforcement officer find information about a motor vehicle. They can see information recorded under section 87ZE and other details about the vehicle. This helps the officer do their job and check motor vehicles.
