The Board has members who are chosen for their skills. You need to know that there are people on the Board who are experts in sanitary plumbing, gasfitting, and drainlaying. They are appointed by the Minister and their names are published in the Gazette. The Board has 2 members who are experts in sanitary plumbing, 2 in gasfitting, and 2 in drainlaying. At least one expert in each area must have a current practising licence. You also have 4 other members on the Board. One of the 4 members may be a registered person, one must have experience in education, and 2 must be able to represent consumer interests. The Minister chooses each member and publishes their name in the Gazette. If someone was already on the Board before this law started, they are still a member until their term ends. Their term ends on the date it would have ended under the old law.
