The Plumbers, Gasfitters, and Drainlayers Board can decide what classes of registration are available. You can be registered in a class that lets you do certain types of sanitary plumbing, gasfitting, or drainlaying work. The Board can also say what work you can do if you are registered in a particular class and have a current practising licence. The Board can describe the classes of registration in different ways, such as by a name that plumbers understand. They can also describe classes by an area of science or by the tasks you do. The Board can limit the work you can do, even if you are registered and have a licence. The Plumbers, Gasfitters, and Drainlayers Board is in charge of deciding these classes and rules, as stated in sections 29 to 35 and 142 to 145, and Part 4. You need to follow these rules if you want to be a registered plumber, gasfitter, or drainlayer. The Board's rules apply to you if you are registered and want to do certain types of work.
