Search and Surveillance Act 2012

Enforcement officers' powers and orders - Surveillance device warrants and declaratory orders - Application for surveillance device warrant

52: Other provisions that apply to surveillance device warrant applications

You could also call this:

"Extra rules to follow when applying for a surveillance device warrant"

When you apply for a surveillance device warrant, some other rules apply. These rules are like the ones for search warrants, but with some changes. You have to follow the rules in sections like section 98(2), section 99, section 100, and section 101, but you replace some words with new ones.

You replace "search warrant" with "surveillance device warrant", and "issuing officer" with "Judge". You also replace "the District Court" with "the District Court or a High Court", depending on the situation.

These rules help with things like giving more information, checking if the application is correct, how to apply, and keeping documents safe.
