This section changes the Extradition Act 1999. You can find the Extradition Act 1999 on the New Zealand legislation website. It alters some parts of the Act. It affects what powers are available under the Search and Surveillance Act 2012.

Some subsections are replaced or repealed. Section 82 of the Extradition Act 1999 is amended to ensure it does not limit any powers under section 11 of the Search and Surveillance Act 2012. You can find section 11 of the Search and Surveillance Act 2012 on the New Zealand legislation website.

The Extradition Act 1999 also changes who can make certain decisions. It now says an issuing officer, as defined in the Search and Surveillance Act 2012, can make these decisions. You can find the definition of an issuing officer in section 3 of the Search and Surveillance Act 2012 on the New Zealand legislation website.

Some parts of the Extradition Act 1999 are removed. Sections 84 to 88 are repealed. Other parts are added, like a new subsection to section 83. This new subsection says that some provisions of the Search and Surveillance Act 2012 apply. You can find these provisions in Part 4 of the Search and Surveillance Act 2012 on the New Zealand legislation website.
