This section changes the Gas Act 1992. You can find the Gas Act 1992 on the New Zealand legislation website. It updates some parts of the law to match the Search and Surveillance Act 2012.

The law used to say that you had to make a written application on oath to do something, but now you make an application in a certain way. This way is described in the Search and Surveillance Act 2012. You can find this information in subpart 3 of Part 4 of the Search and Surveillance Act 2012.

Some parts of the Search and Surveillance Act 2012 now apply to the Gas Act 1992. These parts are subparts 1, 3, 7, 9, and 10 of Part 4. They help explain how to get a warrant to enter a dwellinghouse, which is like a house or a home.

To enter a dwellinghouse, you need a warrant from an issuing officer. An issuing officer is someone who can give you a warrant, and this is explained in section 3 of the Search and Surveillance Act 2012. You can apply for a warrant in a certain way, which is described in subpart 3 of Part 4 of the Search and Surveillance Act 2012.
