Search and Surveillance Act 2012

Enforcement officers' powers and orders - Warrantless powers of entry and search incidental to arrest or detention

82: Application of this subpart

You could also call this:

"When the law lets you arrest or detain someone, these rules apply to you, except for defence force workers."

This part of the law applies to you if you have used a power to arrest or detain someone under the Search and Surveillance Act 2012 or another law. It does not apply if you are working under the Armed Forces Discipline Act 1971 or the Defence Act 1990. It also does not apply to any rules made under those two Acts.
