Search and Surveillance Act 2012

Police powers - Warrants to search and seize weapons when there is gang conflict

18G: Judge may require warrant report

You could also call this:

"A Judge can ask for a report after a search to see what was found and what happened."

If a Judge gives a warrant under section 18D, they can ask the Commissioner to give them a report about the search warrant. The Judge can say when the report is due, and it must be after the time to use the warrant has ended. You will get a report that says if the warrant was used, and if any weapons or evidence were found. The report will also say if any other powers were used with the warrant, and if any court cases have started or are being thought about because of what was found, including what was seized under section 123 or 123B.
