When you read this part of the law, some words have special meanings. You need to know what call associated data and network operator mean, which is explained in section 3 of the Telecommunications (Interception Capability and Security) Act 2013. A document can include call associated data and messages sent over the internet or phone.

A document also includes information that a network operator stores as part of their normal business, like emails or phone calls, when they have the ability to store this information. You can find more about this in section 71. This helps you understand what these words mean in this part of the law.
