This law changes the Chemical Weapons (Prohibition) Act 1996. You can find the Chemical Weapons (Prohibition) Act 1996 on the New Zealand legislation website. It updates who can issue a warrant and what the warrant can say. It replaces some words with new ones, like who can issue a warrant. Now, an issuing officer can issue a warrant, as defined in the Search and Surveillance Act 2012. The warrant can authorise the entry of a place. Some parts of the Search and Surveillance Act 2012 now apply to this law. Sections 24 and 25 of the Chemical Weapons (Prohibition) Act 1996 are no longer valid.
