Search and Surveillance Act 2012

General provisions in relation to search, surveillance, and inspection powers - Search warrants - Issuing of search warrant

109: Limitation on jurisdiction of certain issuing officers

You could also call this:

"Some law enforcement officers can't make decisions on cases from their own team."

If you are an issuing officer who works for a law enforcement agency, you cannot consider or make decisions about applications from other law enforcement officers who work for the same agency as you. This rule is in place to ensure that applications are handled fairly and without bias. You must not perform any functions related to these applications if they come from someone in your own agency.
