You need to know that some parts of the Children, Young Persons, and Their Families Act 1989 are changing. The changes are to sections that mention who can do certain things, like making decisions or giving orders. These sections now refer to an "issuing officer" as defined in the Search and Surveillance Act 2012. You can find more information about what an issuing officer is by looking at section 3 of the Search and Surveillance Act 2012. The changes also affect how applications are made, which is now done in writing and verified according to section 99 of the Search and Surveillance Act 2012. This means that the applications must follow the rules set out in that Act. The changes apply to different sections of the Children, Young Persons, and Their Families Act 1989, including section 39(1), section 40(1), and section 386(1). These sections are being updated to use the new terms and processes. This helps to make sure that the laws are consistent and easy to follow.
