When you produce a record of pathway information because of a preservation direction, an enforcement officer can do a few things. They can keep the original record if it helps with the investigation. They can also make copies of the record. If needed, they can ask you to help make the information in the record usable. You might need to provide more information to help understand the pathway information, like the names of telecommunications service providers involved.
