You have powers to search under the Marine Mammals Protection Act 1978. The Search and Surveillance Act 2012 has rules that apply to these powers. Some of these rules are in Part 4 of the Search and Surveillance Act 2012, which you can find on the New Zealand legislation website. You can search according to some subsections of the Search and Surveillance Act 2012. These subsections are in Part 4 of the Act, except for subpart 3. They also include subparts 1, 5, 6, 7, 9, and 10 of Part 4. The rules in the Search and Surveillance Act 2012 apply to the powers you have. This means you must follow these rules when you search. You can find the rules in Part 4 of the Search and Surveillance Act 2012.
