Biosecurity Act 1993

Importation of risk goods - Inspections, declarations, etc

30: Uncleared imports

You could also call this:

"Goods you must give to inspectors when arriving in New Zealand"

When you arrive in New Zealand, an inspector may ask you to give them goods that you have with you that could be a risk to the country. The inspector wants to check these goods to see if they need to be disposed of under the Biosecurity Act. You will have to hand over these goods to the inspector.

An inspector may also ask you to tell them some information about yourself, such as your name, date of birth, and nationality. You may also be asked about your travel plans and where you got certain goods. The inspector will tell you how to give them this information.

You must let the inspector check any goods you have with you, including in your luggage. You have to help the inspector with the check and give them any information they need.
