Biosecurity Act 1993

Importation of risk goods - Information sharing for joint border management

41G: Collection of border information

You could also call this:

"Gathering information from people crossing New Zealand's borders"

The Ministry can collect border information and store it in a JBMS. You might wonder what a JBMS is, but that's not explained here. The Ministry can do this even if the information is about you personally. If the information is about you, the Ministry can still collect and store it, even if this goes against some rules in the Privacy Act 2020. The Minister can choose another agency to help the Ministry collect and store border information.
