53: Duties of owners of organisms

You could also call this:

"Looking after pests: what owners must do"

If you own or are in charge of an organism that you know or suspect is a pest or unwanted, you must not let it be in a place where organisms are sold or shown. You must not sell it or offer it for sale. You must not help it breed or multiply, as this can cause more problems. A chief technical officer can give you permission to do something that is normally not allowed with a pest or unwanted organism. This permission can be given in a public notice or in a letter to you, the owner or person in charge of the organism.
