Biosecurity Act 1993

Pest management - Funding from levy

100R: Management agency to account for levy

You could also call this:

"Agencies must report how they use the levy money they receive each year."

When a management agency gets a levy, you need to know what they do with the money. After the end of each financial year, the agency must prepare some statements. These statements show how much levy money they got, what assets they have because of the levy, and how they spent the levy money. They also need to show their financial position and the results of their activities that used the levy money.

The agency must make sure these statements are checked by an auditor within five months after the end of the year. This is to ensure the statements are correct and truthful. You can find more information about the law that requires this in the Biosecurity Law Reform Act 2012.

The agency has to do this every year to account for the levy they received.
