37D: Director-General to consult chief executives

You could also call this:

"The boss of biosecurity must talk to other important government bosses before making big decisions."

The Director-General must talk to the chief executives of some organisations before taking action under sections 37, 37A, or 37B. You need to know that these organisations include the New Zealand Customs Service, the Ministry of Health, the New Zealand Police, and the Ministry of Transport. The Director-General must also talk to the chief executives of other government departments that might be affected by the action.
