Biosecurity Act 1993

Administrative provisions - Incorporation by reference

142S: Effect of other enactments

You could also call this:

"How other laws affect biosecurity rules and documents in New Zealand."

When you look at documents about biosecurity, you need to know how other laws affect them. Some parts of the Legislation Act 2019, like sections 69 to 100, do not apply to material incorporated in a biosecurity document. This means those rules do not affect the information included in biosecurity documents from other sources.

Other parts of the Legislation Act 2019, such as Subparts 1 and 2 of Part 5, do apply to secondary legislation under the Biosecurity Act that incorporates material. However, the requirement in section 114 of that Act does not apply to the material incorporated in the secondary legislation. This affects how the incorporated material is treated.

Some laws, like sections 29 to 32 of the Standards and Accreditation Act 2015, are not affected by certain parts of the Biosecurity Act, such as sections 142L to 142R. This means those sections of the Standards and Accreditation Act 2015 remain unchanged by the Biosecurity Act. You can still follow the rules in the Standards and Accreditation Act 2015.
