Biosecurity Act 1993

Surveillance and prevention

51: Duties relating to identification of organisms

You could also call this:

"Be careful with labels on living things and only use allowed names"

When you are dealing with organisms, you must not remove or alter any approved identification that has been used for them, unless you have written permission from an inspector or a good reason. You also need to be careful when using identifications for organisms, and only use the ones you are allowed to use. If there are rules that say you must use a certain identification system, which is notified in the Gazette, you must follow those rules.
