105C: Audits

You could also call this:

"Checking if biosecurity rules and systems are working correctly"

The Director-General must set terms of reference for audits. You need to know that audits include examinations, investigations, and reviews. Auditors conduct audits to check things like how well standards are working and if people are following the rules.

The Director-General looks at audits of the Ministry's systems and procedures. You will see audits of how powers are used and duties are carried out by statutory officers. Auditors also check if people are following biosecurity law and if activities are being done correctly.

Auditors do many kinds of audits, including checking compliance with biosecurity law and the performance of activities. They also assess systems, procedures, and facilities to see if they comply with biosecurity law, as outlined in the Biosecurity Law Reform Act 2012. The Director-General can specify other types of audits in regulations.
