Biosecurity Act 1993

Miscellaneous provisions

165A: Regulations relating to definition of Ministry-related border management function in section 41A(1)

You could also call this:

"Rules for managing New Zealand's borders"

The Governor-General can make rules about what laws are used for managing New Zealand's borders. You can find out more about what this means in section 41A(1) of the Biosecurity Act. These rules are called secondary legislation, which you can learn more about in Part 3 of the Legislation Act 2019.

When the Governor-General makes these rules, they have to follow certain steps. You can find out what these steps are by looking at the Legislation Act. This helps make sure the rules are fair and clear for everyone.

The Governor-General has the power to decide which laws are important for managing the border. You might want to look at the Biosecurity Act to see what this means in more detail. The rules they make will help keep New Zealand safe from biosecurity risks.
