175: Transition of quarantine appointments

On 1 July 1993, some land will be treated as a quarantine facility. This land is subject to the rules in section 39. You will find this land in a few different laws.

This land includes areas set apart as quarantine grounds under the Animals Act 1967. It also includes special quarantine grounds declared under the Animals Act 1967. Some land is defined as quarantine grounds under the Apiaries Act 1969.

Some areas are declared quarantine stations under section 4 of the Plants Act 1970. All these areas will follow the same rules as other quarantine facilities. They must obey the rules from 1 July 1993.

175Transition of quarantine appointments

  1. On 1 July 1993, the following shall be deemed to have been registered as a quarantine facility and to be subject in all respects to the provisions of section 39:

  2. any land set apart and defined as a quarantine ground under section 11 of the Animals Act 1967; and
    1. any land declared to be a special quarantine ground under section 11A of the Animals Act 1967; and
      1. any land defined or approved as a quarantine ground under section 24 of the Apiaries Act 1969; and
        1. any land declared to be a quarantine station under section 4 of the Plants Act 1970.
