"What the Animal Products Act 1999 is called and when it started"

This Act is called the Animal Products Act 1999. You can find it by this name when you look for it. It started on 1 November 1999, but not all parts started then. The part that did not start then is called Part 2. It started on a date chosen by the government, and this date could be different for different parts of Part 2 or for different types of animal products.

If any part of Part 2 had not started by then, it started on 1 November 2002. Until 1 July 2006, some rules in this Act could be affected by the Animal Products (Ancillary and Transitional Provisions) Act 1999. The government can make orders to bring parts of this Act into force, and these orders are a type of law - you can learn more about this type of law in Part 3 of the Legislation Act 2019.
