Animal Products Act 1999

Export of animal material and products - Export requirements and official assurances

63: Obtaining of official assurance

You could also call this:

"Getting approval to export animal products"

If you want to get an official assurance for animal material or products to export, you can apply in a way approved by the Director-General. You must give the Director-General any information they need and pay any relevant fee. The Director-General will only give you an official assurance if they are satisfied with the information you provide.

The Director-General can set out requirements and procedures for official assurances by giving a notice under section 167(1). They can also set out other matters related to getting official assurances.

If the Director-General sets out matters in a notice, these are in addition to any matters prescribed by regulations made under section 166(1)(g).
