Animal Products Act 1999

Recognised agencies, persons, and classes of persons - Recognition of agencies, persons, and classes of persons

102: Recognition of certain agencies without application

You could also call this:

"The Director-General can choose some groups to be in charge without them asking."

The Director-General can recognise certain people as an agency without getting an application under section 101(1). You might be wondering who these people are. They are the Ministry and any group of people within the Ministry that the Director-General chooses for this purpose.

The Director-General can say that these people are in charge of managing and doing certain jobs and activities. When the Director-General does this, some rules from section 101(2) and (3) will also apply to these people.

The rules will be adjusted to fit the situation, so they make sense for the people being recognised as an agency.
