This Part of the Animal Products Act 1999 sets out how agencies and people are recognised to do certain jobs. You will see that it establishes a procedure for recognising agencies that manage and carry out specific functions. It also establishes a procedure for recognising people or groups of people who do specific jobs for the purposes of this Act.

It explains what duties recognised agencies, people, and groups have, and when their recognition can be suspended or withdrawn. This Part also provides for a public register of recognised agencies, people, and groups, and allows the public to access this register.
