Animal Products Act 1999

Animal product standards

42: Animal product standards

You could also call this:

"Rules for keeping animal products safe in New Zealand"

Before you can sell or trade animal products in New Zealand, they must meet certain standards. You need to make sure your animal products are fit for their intended purpose. The government sets these standards to ensure the products are safe.

The standards can be set in two ways: by regulations made under section 44, or by an order made under section 46. You must follow these standards if you produce or process animal products for reward, trade, or export. This applies to all animal products made in New Zealand.
