Recognised agencies, persons, and classes of persons - Miscellaneous matters

112W: Notification to category or class of persons

You could also call this:

"Telling people about important information in a way that works best for them"

When a law requires you to be told about something, it must be done in certain ways. You might be told through a notice in the Gazette, or by reading about it in major newspapers at least twice. You could also be told by someone who represents your group, or if someone applied for your group to be recognised, they might be told instead. The Ministry might put the information on their website, send it to you by mail or email, or use another method that they think will work best.

The person in charge, called the Director-General, decides how to tell you based on what the information is and who it affects. They think about how important the information is and what your group is like, including how big it is and where you are located.

The Director-General can choose one or more of these methods to make sure you are told about the information. They want to make sure you know what is going on, so they pick the best way to tell you.
