100: Interpretation

"What special words mean in the Animal Products Act 1999"

When you read this part of the Animal Products Act 1999, you need to understand what some words mean. The "requirements of this Act" refers to rules or procedures in the Act, regulations, or notices. You can find these rules in the Act itself, in regulations, or in a notice issued under section 167(1).

A "specified conviction" means you have been found guilty of an offence against this Act. It also means you have been found guilty of fraud, dishonesty, or offences related to managing a business. This can happen in New Zealand or another country, and it can be for businesses that are regulated under this Act or similar laws in other countries.

You should know that these rules help explain what the Act means. The Act has its own rules and procedures that you must follow. These rules are important for understanding the Animal Products Act 1999.
