Animal Products Act 1999

Cost recovery

114: Methods of cost recovery

You could also call this:

"How the government gets back the money it spends on animal product services"

When it comes to recovering costs under this Part of the law, you can use several methods. You can use fixed fees or charges, or fees based on a scale or formula. You can also recover the actual and reasonable costs of providing a service.

You can pay estimated fees or charges before a service is provided, and then sort out the final cost later. You might pay a deposit before a service is provided, which could be refundable or non-refundable. Fees or charges can be imposed on people using services, or on third parties, and you can also use levies to recover costs.

You can use any of these methods, or a combination of them, to recover costs under this Part of the law, as outlined in the Animal Products Act 1999.
