Animal Products Act 1999

Export of animal material and products - Export requirements and official assurances

60: Export requirements

You could also call this:

"Rules for sending animal products from New Zealand to other countries"

The Director-General can set rules for exporting animal products from New Zealand. You need to follow these rules if you want to export animal products. The Director-General sets these rules to help New Zealand products get into other countries, or to meet the requirements of the country that is importing the products.

The Director-General can say how you must meet these rules, when you must meet them, and who is responsible for making sure they are met. They can also say what records you need to keep.

The Director-General can set rules to make sure New Zealand's animal products meet international standards. They do this by following standards, requirements, or recommended practices that apply or are accepted internationally, as stated in a notice under section 167(1).
