Electricity Act 1992

General - Functions and powers of WorkSafe and Secretary

5: Functions of WorkSafe

You could also call this:

“WorkSafe makes sure electricity is safe and people follow the rules”

WorkSafe has several important jobs under this Act. You should know that WorkSafe can check if people are following the rules by doing inquiries, tests, audits, or investigations. They also work to make sure electricity is supplied and used safely. Another task they have is to create safety rules for electricity. Lastly, WorkSafe does other jobs that this Act says they should do. Remember, there’s another part of the law (section 5A) that might change or add to what WorkSafe does.
