Electricity Act 1992

Miscellaneous provisions relating to supply of electricity

58: Compensation for trees and vegetation removed

You could also call this:

“Money for trees cut down because of power lines”

If someone removes a tree, part of a tree, or any vegetation because of rules made under section 169, you might get money for it. This is called compensation. You’ll only get this money if the tree or plant was growing on the land before the electrical works or installation was built. The amount of money you get will be worked out using the rules in the Public Works Act 1981. Remember, you won’t get any money if the tree or plant started growing after the electrical works or installation was already there.
