Electricity Act 1992

Registration and licensing of electrical workers and employer licences - Register of electrical workers

132: Revision of register

You could also call this:

“Checking and updating the list of people with electrical licenses”

The Registrar can check if someone with a registration, practising licence, provisional licence, or employer licence wants to cancel it. They do this by sending a letter to the person’s last known address.

If you tell the Registrar in writing that you want to cancel your registration or licence, the Board can decide to cancel it.

If the Registrar doesn’t get a reply within 3 months, or if the letter comes back undelivered, they’ll send another notice. This notice will say that your registration or licence might be cancelled if you don’t respond within 20 working days.

If you don’t reply to this notice, the Board can decide to cancel your registration, practising licence, or both if you’re a registered person. For provisional licence holders or employer licence holders, the Board can cancel your licence.

The Registrar has to do this check if the Board tells them to, but they can also do it anytime they want.
