147B: Duties of investigator supplied with warrant of authority

You could also call this:

“What an investigator must do with their special permission paper”

When you are given a warrant of authority under section 147A, you have some important responsibilities. You must carry the warrant with you and show it when required, as stated in section 159(1)(d). When you are no longer allowed to act under section 147, you need to give the warrant back to the Secretary. It’s important that you don’t try to use the warrant after your authority to act has ended.

If you don’t follow these rules, you are breaking the law. You could be found guilty of an offence and might have to pay a fine of up to $10,000.
