Electricity Act 1992

Registration and licensing of electrical workers and employer licences - Electrical worker registration and licensing - Classes of registration

89: Notices made under sections 84 and 85 must be approved by Minister

You could also call this:

“Minister must agree to Board's notices about electrical work rules”

When the Board wants to make a notice under section 84 or 85, they need to get the Minister’s approval first. Here’s how it works:

The Board sends their proposed notice to the Minister. The Minister then needs to decide quickly whether to approve it or not. They will send a written notice back to the Board with their decision.

If the Minister doesn’t approve the notice, they have to explain why. They can also tell the Board to make changes and send a new version. If this happens, the Board needs to fix the notice and send it back to the Minister as soon as they can.

This process makes sure that the Minister agrees with any notices the Board wants to make under those specific sections of the law.
