You can apply to renew your practising licence, but you need to follow certain rules. You can’t apply more than 3 months before your licence expires. You have to send your application to the Registrar or the Plumbers, Gasfitters, and Drainlayers Board if they need to look at it under section 114.

You must use the right form for your application. If there’s no special form, you need to use the one the Board asks for. You also need to give all the information and documents the Board wants. Don’t forget to pay the fee if there is one.

If the Registrar gets your application, they will send it to the Board to look at under section 106.

If you apply to renew your licence before it runs out, but it hasn’t been renewed by the time it expires, don’t worry. Your licence will stay valid until a decision is made about your application.
