If you were to look at the law about electricity prices, you would find that there used to be a part called ‘Offences’. This part talked about things people weren’t allowed to do when it came to electricity prices. However, on 1 April 1997, the government decided to remove this part from the law. This means that the rules about offences related to electricity prices changed on that date.
