Illustration for Electricity Act 1992

When the Electricity and Gas Complaints Commissioner Board makes a decision or order about someone, and that person doesn't appeal within 20 working days, or when a court makes an order about someone under Part 12, something important can happen. The person who keeps records (called the Registrar) might have to tell everyone about it.

If the Board says it's okay, the Registrar will write a notice. This notice will explain what the decision or order means and why it was made. Usually, it will also include the name of the person involved, unless the Board says not to. The Registrar will put this notice in a special book called the Gazette, and maybe in other places too, if the Board wants.

But remember, if a court says something different, we have to follow what the court says instead.
