Electricity Act 1992

Registration and licensing of electrical workers and employer licences - Electrical worker registration and licensing - Classes of registration

84: Classes of registration may be designated by Board

You could also call this:

“The Board can create different types of electrical work registration, with Minister's approval”

The Board can create different types of registration for electrical work. They can decide what kinds of electrical work each type of registration allows you to do. They might name these types of registration based on what people in the industry usually call them, what area of science they relate to, or what tasks they involve.

When the Board sets out what work you can do with each type of registration, they can also put limits on when and how you can do that work. They might say you can only do certain tasks in specific situations.

The Board can’t make these decisions on their own. They need to get approval from the Minister before they can put new types of registration in place.

When the Board creates new types of registration, they have to make it public. This is called secondary legislation, which means it’s a type of law that comes from the main laws made by Parliament.
