Electricity Act 1992

Registration and licensing of electrical workers and employer licences - Electrical worker registration and licensing - How to become registered

96: Board to register applicant or decline application

You could also call this:

“Board decides if you can be an electrical worker”

When you apply to be registered as an electrical worker, the Board will look at your application. If they think you meet the requirements in section 91, they will tell the Registrar to do a few things. The Registrar will add you to the list of registered people in your specific category. They will send you a certificate to show you’re registered. They will also put your details in the official register and give you a special number or code that’s just for you.

If the Board doesn’t think you meet the requirements, they will let you know. They will tell you their decision and also let you know that you can appeal to the District Court if you don’t agree with their decision.

Once the Board tells the Registrar to register you, the Registrar will put your details in the register as soon as they can.
