104Provisions relating to notified users of fishing vessels

  1. Every application to become a notified user in relation to a fishing vessel shall—

  2. be made jointly by the operator in whose name the fishing vessel is registered and the person who is to be the notified user in relation to the vessel; and
    1. be made to the chief executive in the approved form and be accompanied by the prescribed fee (if any).
      1. Upon receipt of an application made in accordance with subsection (1), the chief executive shall, as soon as practicable,—

      2. note the name of the notified user on the Fishing Vessel Register; and
        1. issue to the operator and the notified user a certificate of notification in respect of the notified user.
          1. No person may be a notified user in relation to a foreign-owned New Zealand fishing vessel.

          2. No overseas person shall be a notified user in relation to a fishing vessel.
